Professional Turners
This is held by the
Worshipful Company of Turners. Acceptance onto the Register is by invitation and judgement
by a panel of peers who ensure that the highest standards of work and professionalism are
met. It is the only professional body in the UK and enjoys a world wide reputation

Association of Woodturners of Great Britain
The AWGB is a national
organisation. Local branches meetings are held featuring many topics of interest to both
the amateur and professional woodturner. A biannual seminar is held, with master classes
given by prominent experts in the field.
Celebration
of Craftsmanship Exhibition
Knitting
and Crochet Guild
Established in 1978 to
preserve and nurture the skills of knitting and crochet and to conserve what is a major
part of our cultural and craft heritage. Activities include a Library, pattern search, an
educational programme, maintaining the national Collection and publication of the
quarterly journal, “Slipknot”, as well as supporting regional branches.
