Most pieces are worked in English hardwoods. All are finished with Danish oil, which gives a lustre without high shine, is non toxic, and seals the wood. Natural Top Bowls
These are worked in a variety of timbers, some of which will show contrasting colours between heart– and sap-wood. Each piece will be unique, and may show burrs, spalting or ripple figuring. The most delicate of these will have been turned from freshly felled wood

Usually burr oak or burr elm, these can be natural topped or a more regular shape.

 SpindleArchitectural and Furniture Turning
Often used in building restoration work, for example replacement newel posts and mouldings. Work can also be done to compliment the art of the furniture maker, for example table legs, chair spindles, and knobs and handles of all sorts.

 Sculptural PiecesToucanaUtopia

One-off pieces, designed to delight and amuse. They will be shaped so that they appear to change as their source of illumination moves. Sometimes they will comprise elements which interact with each other. The example on the left is “Utopia”, made in lacewood with walnut base, whilst that on the right is “Toucana” in sycamore.
